Til Death Do Thou Fight is a new original game by Gamecom, of course. The game is rated T and has a unique genre that I can't give a name to.

You play as the hero, a young 19-year-old protagonist named Morris Jade who was killed by the bombings of World War II and brought to the Valley of the Dead. Morris is granted special powers in this state. The mission is to go through the Valley and destroy all dead beings and destroy the Necromancer at the end.

Gameplay

The game is played in a behind-the-back perspective. Morris runs through the level and doesn't stop. You can move from side to side and jump, but you can't stop him from running. You're armed with many different weapons in your quest, some can be purchased, some can be given though the story, and one is what you start with, which is the legendary sword Lightbringer. Basically it's an on-rails game in which you run, jump, and slash while doing either or. The game would look really cool if it were real.

Characters

Playable

  • Morris Jade
  • Thomas Jade (multiplayer only)
  • Uncle Mathias Jade (multiplayer only; unlocked by aquiring all weapons)
  • Spirit of Purity (multiplayer only; unlocked by finding the hidden medal in each course)
  • The Necromancer (multiplayer only; unlocked by getting Deity Rank on every course)
  • Beecanoe (multiplayer only; unlocked by acheiving all other unlockable content)

Bosses

  • Wind Beast - The first boss you face. The level takes place on a plain where you charge at it while it flies backwards. It has a dragonlike appearance and can blow you backwards by flapping its wings quickly. The way to defeat it is to slash at its wings repeatedly to cut them off. Once it loses its wings, it will mix in tricky attack patterns on the ground. You must then repeatedly attack its head until it dies.
  • The Kraken - The Kraken is a gigantic octopus that you must fight on a fleet of ships. You need to attack its tentacles until they're removed. The battle isn't any easier, though, as the battlefield changes to a smaller boat as you sever its tentacles.
  • Medusa - Medusa is the famous monster of mythology found in the Cursed Cave. The room you fight her in is full of mirrors. You must find where she is through the mirrors instead of looking at her directly, because you'll be turned to stone otherwise.

Weapons

  • Lightbringer - A giant golden sacred blade that evil cowers before.
  • Thunder Knives - Two electrical knives said to be forged by Hephaestus to be given to the great Zeus himself. Recieved after defeating the Wind Beast
  • Ember Whip - A flaming whip used in the Cave of Souls. It is said this whip is cursed to always be ablaze but never burn by hell itself. Unlocked after defeating the Kraken.
  • Tidal Axe - An axe said to contain the power of the seas of the world. One swing takes a massive wave with it to pummel foes with both sharp steel and a wall of water. Unlocked after defeating Medusa.
  • Ice Mallet - An ice-cold hammer that's useful for pummeling the creatures of the Savage Woods. It can also be used to shoot cold blasts out its front. Unlocked after defeating the Night Scorp.
  • Earthen Spear - A spear created from the very core of the earth. It's useful for jabbing the ground to create massive holes for enemies to plummet to their doom. Unlocked after defeating the Great Venus.
  • Stone Mace - A mace made completely out of stone and rock. It isn't much of a weapon, but very effective against World 7's boss. Unlocked after defeating the Dragon Ace.
  • Almighty Lightbringer - A much more powerful version of Lightbringer. Morris is going to need it if he wants to defeat the Necromancer. Unlocked by defeating the Plume Viper.
  • Spider Bow - A super badass bow that can branch off to 8 different targets. It's a bow that must be charged, and then 8 enemies at the most must be locked on and then Morris may fire away. Unlocked by defeating the Necromancer.

Story

The story begins in the UK, country of which protagonist Morris Jade lives. Morris's life was doing very well. He'd got an excellent job helping his father run their very successful shop and he met the girl of his dreams, Vienna Kohl. That is until the bombings happened. War planes flew into Britain and when the alarm was sounded that they were coming, the Jades were forced to flee to the bomb shelter. On the way, Morris told his parents that they were leaving his crippled uncle behind. Because Morris's father was worried about getting to safety, he hurriedly said that they needed to leave him behind, because otherwise he would slow them down. Morris fondly remembered his time with his uncle Mathias, and didn't think it was fair for him to die because of his disabilty, so he turned back and ran to his uncle's house and noticed he was on his way, with a look of despair on his face. Morris helped him to the bomb shelter the whole way and sent him in first.

But then before Morris could make his way into the bomb shelter... BOOM! The bomb falls from the sky and our hero is killed instantly.

Morris wakes up in a strange place. A spirit appears before him.

Morris: Where am I? Hell?

Spirit: No, you are in the land of the dead. Normally, you would never leave, but I will give you another chance at life.

Morris: I don't understand.

Spirit: I have chosen you as the one who will defeat the Necromancer, the king of this realm. Defeating him will grant you the power to be resurrected.

Morris: Why have you chosen me?

Spirit: You have died doing a heroic deed. Should you not be revived doing the same?

Morris: I am just a mortal. I can't beat this Necromancer. I really don't think I can.

Spirit: That is what I'm here for. I will grant you extreme speed and strength, fit for destroying entire armies. I will also entrust you with these weapons.

{The Spirit shows several weapons to Morris, and takes one and holds it.}

Spirit: This is Lightringer, a sacred blade that death itself fears. It will be invaluable on your journey. I hope you make good use of this blade.

Morris: Where do I begin, spirit?

Spirit: I will send you to the Valley of the Wind Beast, the nearest location that is of value to you. I cannot send you to the Necromancer immediately, because it is not within my power.

Morris: That's fair enough. Also, I need to thank you for giving me this amazing opportunity. I will be very grateful when I return to living.

Spirit: Indeed you will. And I will be grateful of you for defeating the Necromancer, because when he is destroyed, this damned world will go with it. Now go, use the weapons I have given you, and complete your first task, destroying the Wind Beast!

{The Spirit teleports Morris to the Valley of the Wind Beast, and Morris begins his journey in the first level of the game.}
